Teachers and Certificated Staff
Our certificated teaching staff in Shoreline School District are the heart and soul of the high-quality education we provide for students in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. Joining Shoreline Schools as a teacher comes with a competitive salary, generous time off, and great benefits.
Here's how it stacks up!

Our first-year teachers start at a minimum of $76,021 in total annual salary. Our most experienced and educated teachers can make up to $147,215 in total annual salary. That’s within the top 5% of school districts in Washington.
When you calculate this by the scheduled hours and days in a teacher’s contract, that’s $43 - $84 per hour!
So what makes up that total annual salary? Let’s break it down into its parts:
-
Base (180 days): $62-120K per year
-
A teacher or certificated staff member’s base salary is determined by their education level and years of experience, with multiple lanes to increase one’s salary throughout a career with Shoreline Schools.
-

-
We recognize that teachers and certificated staff work above and beyond the classroom day for meetings, conferences, activities, and all of the ways they support their students. That’s why our salary package includes “TRI Responsibility” pay for all teachers in addition to base salary, which is the equivalent of being paid for 33 more days than you’re scheduled to work at school!
-
-
TRI Time (6 non-student days): $2-$4K per year
-
Each teacher’s annual salary includes 6 “TRI Time” days in addition to base salary for school year preparations and professional development.
-
