Medication at School

If your student needs to take medication during school hours, talk with your school nurse. Some things to remember about medication at school:

• A medication order, signed by the parent and healthcare provider, is required for all medications given at school. This includes prescription AND over-the-counter medication. Your school nurse will have the required form.
• If at all possible, medication should be given at home
• For short-term medications, parents can come to school and administer it to their student themselves
