On Monday, September 28, the Long-Range Facilities Planning (LRFP) Committee held their first meeting at Parkwood Elementary School. District representatives, school board directors, and 28 members of the LRFP Committee met to kick off the committee's work.

The committee process will begin with a comprehensive look at the District’s properties, including facilities' assessed conditions, the educational programs they support, and current enrollment trends. From there, Long-Range Planning will identify District needs, establish guiding principles and district-wide design standards, and define priorities in partnership with the community and the LRFP Committee – a group composed of parent/guardians, students, staff, and district leadership.

This collaborative effort aims to identify the District’s facility needs, address current and future educational demands, and establish a general timeline for the Long-Range Facilities Planning process. The ultimate goal is a comprehensive capital plan that will guide future capital investments and ensure District facilities and properties continue to serve students and their communities.
