Lisa González Selected as Briarcrest Elementary School Principal
Lisa González has been selected to serve as Briarcrest Elementary School Principal beginning in the 2024-25 school year, pending school board approval, Superintendent Susana Reyes announced.
Lisa is currently serving as Executive Director of Student Learning for Edmonds School District, where she has been in that role since fall 2022. Prior to working for Edmonds School District, Lisa worked in Shoreline School District as Principal at Shorecrest High School for six years, and as Principal at Kellogg Middle School before that. Lisa holds her master’s degree in education and teaching certificate from the University of Michigan, with a bachelor’s in political science from the University of Washington. She was a social studies teacher for 14 years, and she has also taught AVID, both at the middle and high school levels.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, visiting her daughter at college, learning how to play her mandolin, and re-learning how to knit. Lisa is the daughter of Cuban refugees, the first member of her family born in the United States, and a native Spanish speaker. “I am thrilled to return to Shoreline, to support the good work that is happening at Briarcrest and in the dual language program, and to have the opportunity to work with students as they begin their educational journey,” shares Lisa.
Superintendent Reyes says, “We are so excited to bring Lisa back to Shoreline School District and the Briarcrest community. Her commitment to excellence for students, staff, and herself shines brightly in her work, as does her heart for fostering welcoming, inclusive school communities. Welcome back, Lisa!”
