Visual Art

“We live in an age when the most valuable asset any economy can have is the ability to be creative–to spark and imagine new ideas, be they Broadway tunes, great books, iPads or new cancer drugs.”
–Thomas Friedman, New York Times, August 4, 2010.

The Shoreline School District Art Department teaches students to be creative through Visual Arts Education. Students gain knowledge of cultural and human understanding and a means of developing creative and flexible forms of thinking that are critical to a comprehensive education. Our students develop visual and critical thinking skills necessary to participate in society and to become future leaders and innovators in the 21st century work force.
