Superintendent
Superintendent Susana Reyes' Message
The 2022-23 year is an extra special one, as we enter the school year full of hope and anticipation for a return to traditions and routines filled with gratitude and grace. We also embrace the importance of community and belonging as we begin this new school year.
Shoreline Schools staff across the district at all of our incredible schools are engaged in the shared work to achieve our mission:
Provide a collaborative learning community which engages all students in learning the academic and work-life skills needed to achieve their individual potential and become responsible citizens.
We can achieve the outcomes we desire for every one of our students, and they can achieve the outcomes they dream for themselves. We are guided by our shared belief that all students can achieve. Additionally, through fostering an environment of dignity and respect, where all individuals, opinions, and contributions are valued, we build upon our strengths and successes to enhance students’ experiences in the classroom and community. We do this by creating conditions for learning environments that are anti-racist, student-centered, equitable, inclusive, and grounded in a culture that nurtures a love of learning and love and respect for each other.
Ensuring our students thrive in our schools and in their lives is our top priority. Health, safety, equity, and access are at the forefront of our work, and we join together and draw on our district's shared beliefs:
-
All students can achieve
-
Equitable access to rigorous learning is essential
-
Diversity makes our community stronger
-
Curiosity sparks creativity and innovation
-
Respect, empathy, and collaboration are at the core of community
