Superintendent Susana Reyes' Message
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!

I hope that you and your families enjoyed a wonderful summer break and that the days ahead are filled with excitement for our first day of school on Wednesday, September 3 (September 8 for kindergarten and preschool)! It is truly an honor to begin another year together in Shoreline School District, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and support you continue to show our schools.
As always, our dedicated school and district administrators, teachers, and support staff have been busy preparing to welcome students back. In recent weeks, staff across the district have engaged in professional development, welcomed new colleagues, and prepared classrooms and offices for the year ahead. We are eager to greet each of our students on the first day of school and to continue strengthening our partnerships with families throughout the year.
This year, we continue the important work of implementing our District Strategic Plan, Envision Shoreline: Engage. Inspire. Empower. The plan reflects the voices of students, staff, families, and community members and focuses on ensuring that every student is supported, all students are literate, and each student is thriving. We remain committed to our foundation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) and to advancing our two core priorities: literacy and supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. Together, these focus areas guide our progress toward creating equitable, inclusive, and joyful learning environments for all students.
We are also grateful for our community’s overwhelming support of the recent supplemental levy. Thanks to Shoreline and Lake Forest Park voters, we will be able to maintain high-quality educational programs and services that are a hallmark of our schools. This support reflects the deep value our community places on education, and we cannot thank you enough.
With gratitude, hope, and our Shoreline tradition of working together in community, we are confident that the year ahead will bring meaningful growth, discovery, and success for every student. I look forward to seeing you and your children this fall as we begin another year of learning, growing, and inspiring one another.
Sincerely,

Susana Reyes, Ed.D.
